Huw is born and brought up in the lovely country of Wales. I personally met Huw for the first time at Heathrow airport when I traveled to Jordan on a charity bike ride for the British Lung Foundation back in 1999. Huw and I were matched up as room mates throughout the entire journey and we quickly both discovered that it was a match made in heaven (personal joke). This trip wasn't only an important one for me, as it not only gave me a real insight to just how poor people can be and how they still manage to be happy and get on with their lives, but I also got to meet the nicest, most generous and loving man I have ever met in my life. This trip was also a very important one for Huw, and still remember the night we sat up and had a good chat about the church and religion. You see, Huw has been very heavily involved in the church all his life. Anyway, the conversation went along the lines of Huw thinking that he wanted to give up a £30,000 job as a pharmacist in the Prince Charles Hospital in Cardiff to make a new life for himself in the church. Initially, this to me sounded crazy as the money would be considerably less, but I was taught one thing, that you have to follow your dreams, regardless of what your head says. This trip also gave Huw some amazing experiences in a religious sense, especially the moment on top of Mount Nebo. I saw him standing on a ledge infront of Sanctuary at Nebo, alone with his thoughts and left him for a while as I knew it was something quite special. After 10 minutes, I wanted to share this with Huw as by then, we had become extremely close (still purely friendship ha-ha). I will never forget that moment where we both just stood there looking out towards the Promise Land and on towards Jerusalem. I do not have digital copies of my trip to Jordan and this moment where I captured Huw having a vision (not sure the exact word, sorry) and this will be the first photo when I retrieve my photos from my parents. Since our trip in 1999, Huw put himself through college and got ordained in 200?. During his adventure of College, he met his now wife, the lovely Becky and I was privileged to have been invited to their wedding in 200? Again, once I retrieve my photos from my parents, then I will get them on digital form and get photos up on this page. Until I get these photos and set up my Jordan trip on the International Trips page, then here are a few websites that will give you an idea of what Huw and I experienced.
Huw, it's has been an honor and a real pleasure to have been a part of your life and will be in dept to you for the rest of my life for the valuable help you have given me over the years. If I ever become half the man you are then I know I will have become a special person and can die happy.
