Welcome
Thanks for checking my new web site, it's still
in it's early stages just now, but I am constantly updating it
so please be patient and remember to refresh your screen every
time you come back, as all pages will have changed since your last
visit. The rest of the site will be updated to this standard, so
keep coming back to check it out. Probably the best way to see what has changed since you last viewed this site is to go to the Website Updates. Please also feel free to leave me a wee message on my Guestbook.
Background
Born in East Kilbride, Glasgow on Sep 18th 1974,
Ian went to Glasgow
Caledonian University to study Electronics. Two years later,
he walked away with a B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering and an
M.Sc. in Computer Studies. He then moved from Glasgow to Edinburgh,
where he was employed by BAE Systems, programming software for
the ECR90 Euro Jet Fighter's radar. He then moved around a few places in Edinburgh before deciding
that he desperately needed a change, so he moved up to Inverness in
August 2005. Before he left Edinburgh, Ian obtained his full emmigration visa for Australia. In June 2006.
Ian decided that his career had taken too much damage by staying in Inverness for a year and still unable to obtain work in I.T. so applied to a few companines in Aberdeen where he was quickly offered a post with the Aberdeenshire Council, based in Inverurie. Ian is currently enjoying his time in the North East of Scotland, and has recently achieved his goal of getting a car for the purposes of seeing Scotland before he departs for Ireland later this year. His plans are to stay in Ireland (Galway) for 2 years, then emmigrate to Australia. Before all that, Ian has, for the past 8 months been working as an I.T. Contractor in the Oil & Gas sector in Aberdeen. He has recently left this position to concentrate on his music for a few months, so his plans for Ireland and beyond have not been cancelled, just postponed till later in 2008.
Of his many hobbies, Ian's most important hobby is his music. He is currently not only playing a number of instruments but has also created a folk band, which albeit in it's early stages, are getting gigs and fastly becoming known in Aberdeen. Ian is currently playing both the Penny & Low Whistle, Irish Flute, Bodhran, Bagpipes, Djembe Drum and Cajon and be found playing most nights of the week in numerous pubs in sessions in Aberdeen. Ian is also currently working on his first CD with a few friends plus will be starting work on the Bands CD.
This is not the first time Ian has
dabbled with music, after doing a crash Higher in Music in his
6th year, he went on to play the trumpet in a professional jazz/swing big-band for a few years, and was offered a place at the Perth
Music College.
Ian currently lives in a Farmhouse in Portlethen, 4 miles south of Aberdeen City Centre, with a view of the countryside and a stunning view out to the North Sea.
